A taste of it: one hour of motocross
The taster course lasts one hour and is an uncomplicated way to get to know motocross. A rental motorcycle, the protective gear and a coach are included. No prior experience is required and no driving licence either, because riding takes place exclusively on the MX-Academy's closed-off site in Schlatt TG.
Several vouchers include this taster course: the Motocross for everyone voucher, the beginner voucher, the women's voucher and the vouchers for children and for teenagers. Nobody needs their own motorcycle for it.
Complete package: more time on the track
If you want to give more than the taster course, choose a complete package. It is available on a Wednesday or a Saturday, the Saturday also with catering. Here, too, the package covers a rental motorcycle and protective gear. For newcomers who want more after the taster course, the complete package is the next step.
The complete package is available not only for beginners but also in the three training courses for motocross, enduro and riding safety. This means riders without their own motorcycle can also take part in a training course; those who own one also save themselves the transport.
Motocross gift for riders with their own motorcycle
The training voucher is intended for riders who already own a motocross bike. The course day takes place on a Wednesday or Saturday, as preferred, and you ride your own motorcycle. Training takes place in small groups based on the participants' level. This way, beginners and fast riders do not train in the same group.
Typical competition motorcycles for such tracks are the Honda CRF250R and CRF450R. Neither is road legal, and both are built for use on closed-off motocross tracks. For the CRF450R, Honda mentions a 19-inch rear wheel and MX tyres; for the CRF250R, the Honda HSTC traction control.
The path into motocross can look like this, step by step: first, the taster course shows whether motocross is enjoyable. Then a complete package brings more riding time with a rental motorcycle and protective gear. Anyone who sticks with it and buys their own motocross bike eventually trains with the training voucher in a small group at the right level.
Close to motocross: enduro and off-road riding safety
If the person prefers terrain to jumps, give the enduro training. Beginners either ride their own motorcycle or book the complete package, while advanced riders bring their own motorcycle on a Thursday; groups are formed according to riding ability.
Even those who have covered many kilometres on the road will find new challenges off-road. For road riders without off-road experience, the Motocross for everyone voucher is a good option. Those who want to go off-road on their own adventure tourer or adventure bike, on the other hand, are in the right place with the MX-Academy motorcycle safety training. Here, too, you need no driving licence, since the training is not held in public road traffic.
Motocross for children, teenagers and women
Motocross is not just a sport for adults: the MX-Academy runs courses for children from age 4, with a Honda kids' rental motorcycle and professional coaches. Teenagers get started with the youth motocross voucher, which covers a rental motorcycle, protective gear and professional coaching. For children, too, there is the one-hour taster course as well as complete packages.
For women discovering motocross for the first time or returning after a break, there is a women's voucher, including a women's bike and coach. For families, this means parents and children ride at the same location, each in the right course.
Motocross is also fun in a group. If several friends each order a voucher, they can then look for a shared course day in the event calendar – from the taster course to training.
Amounts, ordering and registration
The vouchers with a taster course start at CHF 165, the training vouchers at CHF 150. There are also value vouchers of 20, 50 and 100 francs, which the recipient can use for any MX-Academy course. For training with your own motorcycle, you choose between Wednesday and Saturday; for the complete package, the Saturday with catering is an extra option.
Orders are placed only online in the 4motocross.ch shop and paid for with TWINT; the PDF is emailed to you at once, with a birthday or Christmas motif on request. The voucher is valid for 2 years. Registration for the course day is done online via the event calendar; payment is made at the course venue.
