Honda motorcycles for the road

The Adventure category includes the Africa Twin CRF1100L, Africa Twin Adventure Sports, Transalp XL750, NX500, NC750X, CRF300 Rally and X-ADV. The naked bikes range from the CB125R through the CB500 Hornet, CB650R and CB750 Hornet to the CB1000 Hornet with 111.6 kW.

Retro & Custom brings together the CB1000F, Rebel 500, Rebel 1100, CL500, GB350S, Monkey, Dax ST125 and Super Cub C125. At Honda, Supersport means the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, CBR600RR, CBR650R and CBR500R. The Gold Wing, NT1100, CB1000GT and Africa Twin Adventure Sports tourers are designed for long distances.

Entry level, scooters, automatic and electric

With subcategory A1 (up to 125 cc, max. 11 kW) you can ride the 125cc models CB125R, CB125F, Grom MSX125, Monkey, Dax ST125 and Super Cub C125. Category A restricted to 35 kW, known as A2 in the EU, allows up to 35 kW – many Honda motorcycles are available in a version limited to 35 kW. With unrestricted category A, all road models are open to you.

The scooters range from the Vision 110 through the PCX125, SH Mode 125, SH125i, SH150i, SH350i, Forza 125, Forza 350 and ADV350 to the Forza 750 and X-ADV. The DCT variants of the Africa Twin, NC750X, NT1100, Rebel 1100 and Gold Wing shift automatically. With the Honda E-Clutch, you pull away without using the clutch lever, for example on the Transalp XL750, CB750 Hornet, CB650R or Rebel 500. The WN7, CUV e: and EM1 e: are electric.

Motocross, enduro, kids and trial

For track and off-road use without road approval, Honda builds the CRF450R, CRF250R and CRF150R competition motorcycles as well as the CRF450RX and CRF250RX enduro models. Road-legal options include the CRF300L and CRF300 Rally enduros. Children start with the CRF50F, CRF110F or CRF125F, and for trial there are the Montesa Cota 301RR, Cota 260 and 4Ride.

Test ride at the Honda dealer in Zurich

Technical data say little about how a motorcycle feels. You only experience the riding position, the weight when manoeuvring and shifting with DCT, E-Clutch or clutch lever on a test ride – ideally on the model you have shortlisted.

Honda Motorrad Zürich is an official Honda dealer and offers purchase, leasing and workshop services from a single source in addition to test rides. The demo models available change constantly, so a short enquiry with the dealer is worthwhile.

MX-Academy courses and gift vouchers

The MX-Academy offers courses for every skill level: a taster course and complete package for beginners, motocross and enduro training, off-road motorcycle safety training for adventure tourers and adventure bikes, and offers for women, teenagers and children from age 4. Since everything happens on closed-off grounds, a driving licence is not required.

Registration is via the MX-Academy event calendar, and the course fees are paid on site. The courses can also be given as gifts: gift vouchers are available online in the 4motocross.ch shop, paid with TWINT and delivered instantly as a PDF to your inbox.

Frequently asked questions about Honda motorcycles

Which Honda models suit the restricted category A?

Models up to 35 kW such as the NX500, CB500 Hornet, CBR500R, Rebel 500 or CL500, plus the 35 kW variants of models such as the Transalp XL750, CB750 Hornet, CB650R or X-ADV.

What is the difference between DCT and E-Clutch?

DCT is a dual clutch transmission that shifts automatically. The Honda E-Clutch handles pulling away and shifting without the clutch lever, while operating the clutch by hand remains possible.

Where can I test ride a Honda motorcycle?

At Honda Motorrad Zürich, the official Honda dealer. Purchase, leasing and workshop services are also available there; the selection of demo models changes constantly.

Do I need a driving licence for MX-Academy courses?

Can I order a course as a gift?

Yes. MX-Academy course vouchers are available in the 4motocross.ch shop; after payment by TWINT, the PDF arrives promptly and is valid for 2 years.
