Off-road with a seat: the Montesa 4Ride

The Montesa 4Ride combines the technology of a trial motorcycle with a comfortable seat and a relaxed seating position. The model is made for rides away from paved tracks, off-road exploration tours and long outings.

Concept: a trial motorcycle you can sit on

Classic trial motorcycles are ridden almost exclusively standing up. The 4Ride, by contrast, combines trial characteristics with a comfortable seating and riding position and plenty of suspension travel. This means longer distances can also be ridden seated, while the trial technology helps in difficult passages.

Montesa is the trial brand of Honda. The 4Ride complements the Cota 301RR and Cota 260 trial models with a model for off-road touring.

Engine and drivetrain of the 4Ride

The 259 cc four-stroke engine is described by Honda as powerful and smooth-running. The new exhaust system matches that of the Cota models and meets the Euro 5+ requirements without any loss of power.

The five-speed gearbox has taller gearing than on the previous model.

Suspension, frame and equipment

The frame is a twin-spar aluminium design. At the rear, a shock absorber in the Pro-Link system has adjustable preload and compression, which can be matched to rider weight and terrain. The rims are anodised in gold.

There is storage space under the seat, plus a headlight and tail light and a lighter side stand like that of the Cota models.

Who is the 4Ride for?

The 4Ride suits riders who want to explore off-road terrain at a calm pace while seated, rather than riding sections in competition. If you do trial as a sport, the Cota 301RR or the Cota 260 are the right models.

Because trial technology is designed for slow, controlled riding, the 4Ride is also suitable for tracks where skill matters more than speed. Storage space, lights and the seat make day-long outings more pleasant.
