Character: a trial motorcycle for competition and training
Trial is a precision sport: riders tackle sections over rocks, steps and tree trunks, ideally without putting a foot down. Every dab costs penalty points, and the winner is whoever collects the fewest. The Cota 301RR is built for this kind of competition use.
Riding is done almost entirely standing up, with steering by shifting weight, fine throttle control and clutch. With 298 cc, the Cota 301RR has a larger displacement than the Cota 260 and the 4Ride.

Engine and technology of the Cota 301RR
The 298.4 cc four-stroke engine has four valves and fuel injection. The flat piston runs with three rings; the ignition map and breather system are designed to reduce engine braking.
According to Honda, a solid rear sprocket complies with the FIM racing regulations.
Chassis and equipment
The frame is a double-profile aluminium frame. At the front is a Showa fork with a 39 mm diameter and 158 mm of travel, at the rear a Showa shock in the Pro-Link system. Preload and compression damping can be adjusted front and rear to suit rider weight and terrain. Ground clearance is 310 mm.
The triple clamp is milled from aluminium and anodised in titanium grey. The brake and clutch levers are each attached with just one screw. For racing, an optional Race Kit, an LED headlight and carbon protection parts for the clutch cover are available.
Variants and use
In addition to the standard version, there is the Cota 301RR Race Replica. The Cota 301RR is aimed at trial riders who take part in competitions or train intensively.
According to Honda, the optional racing parts such as the Race Kit and LED headlight are intended exclusively for racing. With a smaller displacement, the Cota 260 is an option, and for longer rides with a seat, the 4Ride.
